ENCRYPTED DISK PATCH Upgrade Package Copyright (C) 2006-2008 By Rudolph R. Loew The Encrypted Disk Patch Program Upgrade Package updates a previously installed Encrypted Disk Patch Package. The Upgrade Program transfers the License Serial Number from the Old Version of the Patch Program to the new one and replaces the old Patch Program. REQUIREMENTS Earlier Version of the Full Version of the Encrypted Disk Patch. CONTENTS PATCHMOD.EXE Patch Update Program PATCHMOD.DAT Patch Update Data File for new Version READ1ST.TXT This File Full Encrypted Disk Patch Package except for Boot Manager files. LICENSE Read the Licensing terms and conditions in the LICENSE.TXT file before using the Patch Upgrade Program. Installation of the Patch Upgrade constitutes acceptance of all of the terms and conditions in the updated LICENSE.TXT file. INSTALLATION 1. If you have not Installed an earlier Version of Encrypted Disk Patch, Unzip the Earlier Package and place the files in a folder. 2. If you have Installed an earlier Version of the Encrypted Disk Patch, remove the Patch by running the PATCHENC Program. If you are also using the High Capacity Disk Patch, you may need to uninstall the High Capacity Disk Patch. See the MANUAL.TXT File for more information. 3. If you have Installed the Encrypted Boot Manager on your Hard Drive, use the UNINST Program to uninstall it. Windows ME users must perform this step from DOS or from Windows Safe Mode. See the MANUAL.TXT File for more information. 4. Unzip and copy the files from this Package OVER the previously installed Package. 5. Run the PATCHMOD.EXE Program to Upgrade the Program(s). 6. Run the PATCHENC.EXE Program to Install/Upgrade the ESDI_506.PDR Port Driver. Windows ME users must perform this step from DOS or from Windows Safe Mode. See the MANUAL.TXT File for more information. If you are also using the High Capacity Disk Patch, you may need to reinstall the High Capacity Disk Patch. See the MANUAL.TXT File for more information. 7. If you use the BMINST Program, Run the BMINST.COM Program to ReInstall the Boot Manager. Windows ME users must perform this step from DOS or from Windows Safe Mode. See the MANUAL.TXT File for more information. 8. If you use the FLOPINST Program, Run the FLOPINST.COM Program to Update your Installation Floppy Disk. Then Reboot and ReInstall the Boot Manager using the Installation Floppy. 9. If you use the FMINST Program, Run the FMINST.COM Program to Update your Boot Manager Floppy Disk. Then Reboot and run the Boot Manager from the Boot Manager Floppy. 10. Update any other copies of the PATCHENC.EXE (such as for Automatic Installation/Verification) from the Upgraded PATCHENC.EXE Program. Update any other copies of the Boot Manager Software and any Floppies created using them.
